Answers to Dasam Granthis
Is Panth wrong about Dasam Granth?
Many people don’t understand the definition of panth. As per Gurbani, panth means path. Therefore, which path is wrong? For a Sikh of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, path of Dasam Granth is wrong and path of Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the right path.
If Dasam Granth isn’t Gurbani, when did it enter Panth?
Dasam Granth entered into Guru Granth’s panth when Sikhs were in jungles and fighting for survival. While fighting for survival, many Sikhs who were well versed in Gurbani became martyrs and the new recruits weren’t educated enough to stop the new additions happening into Sikh practices via external elements. Further, many of these additions happened and spread from places not under control of Sikhs. Some Sikhs also brought their allegiances from previous faiths into the Sikh path. So knowingly and unknowingly, certain Sikhs accepted Dasam Granth and it has snowballed since then. However, with technology and recent attacks on Sikhs by anti-Sikh forces, Sikhs have been forced to study their religion. This studying has brought enlightenment so Sikhs are now realizing the truth and have a desire to return to their roots.
Are sants and brahmgyanis wrong?
There is no concept of saints in the Sikh brotherhood. Gurbani considers all Sikhs to be brothers. If we review history, no Sikhs were called saints or brahmgyanis. This is a modern phenomena which arrived with Nirmalas and British. Nirmalas gained strength with help from British after British took over Punjab. None of the following great Sikhs and martyrs had the word saint in their names
- Bhai Lalo
- Bhai Mardana
- Bhai Satta
- Bhai Balwand
- Bhai Peepaa
- Bhai Mati Dass
- Bhai Sati Dass
- Bhai Dyala
- Bhai Jaitaa / Jeevan Singh
- Bhai Makhan Shah
- Bhai Manjh
- 5 pyaras (Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh, Bhai Mohkam Singh, Bhai Himmat Singh, Bhai Sahib Singh)
- 4 Sahibzadas (Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Jorawar Singh, Fateh Singh)
- Bhai Mani Singh
- Baba Deep Singh
- Banda Singh Bahadur
- Bhai Bachitter Singh
- Bhai Kannaeya
- Hari Singh Nalwa
Dasam Granth is part of Amrit Sanchar maryada. There will be no Amrit without Dasam Granth.
Dasam Granth was not part of Amrit Sanchar until around 1800s and the present maryada of (Jaap, Chaupai, Swayas, Japji and Anand) was not present until later.
There is no nitnaim without Dasam Granth.
Guru Granth Sahib Ji is written in order of raags. However, there is one section before the first raag - Sri Raag. This section is what our nitnaim is as given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. First 13 pages are part of our daily nitnaim. First 8 pages have Japji (our morning bani), then we have So Dar and So Purakh (to be recited during evening) and then there is Sohila (to be recited before going to sleep).
If Guru Gobind Singh Ji didn’t write Dasam Granth, who did?
Dasam Granth is work of poets Raam, Shyam, Kaal and others. There is also
interpolation from other writers such as Sukha Singh from Patna - he was a
priest. Raam and Shyam are the main poets. Some quotes from Dasam Granth itself
are presented below. We see the poets showcasing their names in their writings.
Poet Shyam:
ਬੀਰੀ ਚਬਾਤ ਕਛੂ ਮੁਸਕਾਤ ਬੰਧੇ ਗਜਗਾਹ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਨਚਾਯੋ। ਸਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਮਾਨਨਿ ਕੋ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਨੁ ਆਯੋ। ੩੨। {ਚਰਿਤਰ ੧੦੯, ੪.੪, ੩੭}

Very brave and strong soldier died fighting in the war; he didn’t leave the battlefield for even
an instance. Poet Kaal says that this story is complete at this occurrence. 29. 1.
How come no one opposed Dasam Granth before?
As said before, Dasam Granth wasn’t around in Punjab until around 1800s and didn’t become
popular until after mid 1800s. Oppositon of Dasam Granth started as it came into the forefront. It
was opposed by the likes of Prof. Gurmukh Singh, Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha and other wise Sikhs. For
more, please see scans presented next from Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha’s Gurmat Maartund:
Below is Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha discussing Charitropakhyan and its slander of women and God. He clarifies that the writer is unaware of Gurmat principles.
People love to sing Mahakal Rakhvar Hamaro. Below is what he says about Mahakal and what a true Sikh of Mahakal does.
If Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha isn't exposing and opposing contents of Dasam Granth in these scans, what is he doing?
All shaheeds have believed in Dasam Granth. Any shaheeds who never read Dasam Granth?
Giving martyrdom has no relevance with believing in Dasam Granth but there have been many shaheeds who never read Dasam Granth. Their list is below:
- Guru Arjan Ji
- Sikhs who fought in battles during times of 6th Nanak
- Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
- Bhai Mati Dass Ji
- Bhai Sati Dass Ji
- Bhai Dyala Ji
- Piir Buddu Shah and his sons
- Piir Buddu Shah’s associates
- Sahibzadas (Sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji)
- Guru Gobind Singh Ji
- 40 muktas
- Banda Singh Bahadur
- Babbar Akalis
- Baba Boojha Singh
- Basically all Sikh shaheeds until late 1700s
Dasam Granth readers have been loyal to panth and anti-Dasam Granth people did nothing in 1980s.
Dasam Granth readers and promoters have always betrayed the panth during tough times. A list of betrayals by Dasam Granth promoters is below:
- Maharaja Ranjit Singh:
- Had Hari Singh Nalwa murdered on orders of Dogras
- Dhyan Chand Dogra and other dogras in court of Ranjit Singh:
- Often recited Krishan Avtar verses to Ranjit Singh and then backstabbed Sikhs by helping British win
- Mahants:
- They divided Sikhs into castes and even forced people out of Sikhism by cutting their hair and declared them as outcastes
- These mahants also molested children and women
- These mahants were removed from Gurduaras and Dasam Granth was removed by Singh Sabha from Takhts in Punjab
- After removal from takhts, these people showed up as saints by establishing their business centres under names such as thaats, deras, etc.
- RSS:
- Always tries to portray Sikhs as a sect of Hinduism and says once Dasam Granth is in parkash at 3 takhts in Punjab, the difference between Sikhs and Hindus will be removed
- Damdami Taksal:
- Gave training to RSS preachers such as Rulda Singh and gave a ceremonial robe of honor to killer of Sikh youth, K.P. Gill
- Have Dasam Granth beside Guru Granth Sahib Ji which never existed during Guru Gobind Singh Ji's time
- Supported a corrupt and financially motivated family win SGPC elections
- Attempted assasination of Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadriawala and pushed him away from Sikhi
- Have promoted abusers of Sikhs on the internet to abuse those who have views differing from Damdami Taksal
- Sided with SGPC and its political party to pardon a rapist, murderer and anti-Sikh cultist Ram Rahim of Sirsa
- Nihungs
- Allowed mahants to do whatever and sided with British after Sikh kingdom was lost to British
- They were allowed to roam free and were hooked on cannabis
- They never opposed mahants for their criminal activities in Gurduaras because nihungs received their cash and rations from mahants
- Ashutosh
- Uses Dasam Granth to declare Sikhs as a sect of Hindus.
- Even now, Dasam Granth promoters never hesitate to attack Guru Granth Sahib or change meanings of Gurbani to suit their agenda of fooling Sikhs and promoting Dasam Granth. They often try to give Gurbani a Hindu twist.

RSS Statement
Charitropakhyan is written to impart moral lessons. It promotes social values.
This statement of Dasam Granth promoters isn’t true at all. If these stories were written for
moral lessons, there would have been no need to get detailed about sexual acts. Only an example
will be presented below so readers can decide themselves:

Hey fool! Either forget about living or have desireful sexual intercourse with me. Either I will
cut you into seven pieces or place your penis (lundaa) into my vagina (bhug). 11. Prince was very
scared at that moment. He had sexual intercourse with the woman. She tricked him with this ploy
and had sexual intercourse with the young prince (Beraag Raaye). 12. No one has known the end of
women. Even the Creator is regretting after creating them. The one who has created this creation,
even he has failed to understand women. 13. 1.
There is no need to go into deep details about the above quote but it is utter disrespect to God.
Dasam Granth writers must have had an atheist mentality to slander women and God in the same
sentence. Gurbani says:
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ ੩॥ {ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ, ਪੰਨਾ ੧੧੩੯}
Sabh Kish Jaannai Sirjanhaar || 3||
God, the Creator, knows everything. 3.
How does God not understand women? Are God's capabilities limited and God isn't knower of all?
Bhai Jarnail Singh Bhindrwala believed in Dasam Granth so we should as well.
Many people like to use Bhai Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala as an excuse to read and promote Dasam Granth. Some points are below:
- He is a martyr and is respected for his stand for Sikh rights and not his DG views.
- If he was respected for his DG views, then Dhumma would be too.
- Gurbani says: ਸਾਝ ਕਰੀਜੈ ਗੁਣਹ ਕੇਰੀ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਚਲੀਐ ॥ so we should place virtues ahead of flaws.
- Jarnail Singh believed in Damdami Taksal which believes in Hindu mythology so how can we blindly trust Taksal's statements or teachings?
- Jarnail Singh practiced what he was taught by Taksal so he can't be used for his religious views and Taksal as a whole has to be used to see if Taksal is Gurmat aligned or not
- He believed in dasam granth when even Prof. Darshan Singh believed in it. Professor Darshan Singh changed so how do DGs know Bhindrawala wouldn't have changed? Especially, considering he was on a mission to keep Sikhi distinct from Hinduism.
